How to Delete Your Data

Last updated: November 5, 2026

You can delete your Promptler account at any time. This page explains exactly what happens, what gets deleted, and how to do it.

Your Promptler account exists only if you chose Sign in with Apple. Your prompt library is never stored on our servers: it lives on your device and, if iCloud is on, in your own private iCloud. Section 3 explains how to remove it.

Quick option: Email hello@promptler.app from the address tied to your account with the subject line “Data deletion request”. We will confirm and complete the deletion within 30 days.

1. Delete your account from inside the app

The fastest way is from within Promptler 2.1 or later on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac:

  1. Open Promptler.
  2. Go to Settings › Account (shown when you’re signed in with Apple).
  3. Tap Delete Account and confirm.
  4. Confirm it’s you with Sign in with Apple.

Your account is deleted right away, and Promptler is removed from the apps using your Apple ID with Sign in with Apple.

2. Request deletion by email

If you cannot access the app, you can request deletion by email instead:

  1. Send an email to hello@promptler.app.
  2. Use the subject line: Data deletion request.
  3. Send the email from the address associated with your Promptler account, or include enough information for us to verify ownership (for example, the email tied to your account or your in-app user ID).

We will reply to confirm receipt, complete the deletion, and let you know when it is done — typically within 30 days of a verified request.

3. What gets deleted

When you delete your account, we:

Your prompts (and their categories, labels, templates, and images) aren’t on our servers, so deleting your account doesn’t remove them. To delete them, use Settings › Data › Delete All Prompts in the app; with iCloud on, that removes them from your other devices too.

App analytics (Firebase) are tied to an app-instance identifier, not to your account, and expire under our providers’ retention settings. You can turn them off anytime with Settings › Privacy › Share Analytics. AI tool usage records are tied to a one-way hash, not to you, and are deleted after 90 days.

4. What we may keep, and why

We may retain a limited amount of information after deletion when we are legally required or have a legitimate need to do so, including:

Anything we retain is kept only for as long as necessary for the purpose above, then deleted or further anonymized.

5. Subscriptions and App Store purchases

Deleting your Promptler data does not automatically cancel an active App Store subscription. If you have an active subscription, please cancel it from your device:

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Tap your name › Subscriptions.
  3. Select Promptler and tap Cancel Subscription.

Apple controls App Store billing records; we cannot delete those on your behalf.

6. Third-party services

Promptler uses a small number of service providers (for example, hosting, analytics, and crash reporting), listed in our Privacy Policy. Analytics and crash data aren’t linked to your account and are deleted automatically under each provider’s retention settings. If you want us to ask a provider to delete something specific, email us and we’ll handle it.

7. After deletion

Deletion is permanent. We cannot recover an account or its content once the request has been completed. If you want to use Promptler again, you are welcome to create a new account.
